Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. While our scholars and alumni are a core part of our community, the Volunteer Hub is open to anyone who shares Bill Daniels’ passion for making a difference in our four-state region.

Absolutely! We encourage you to share the spirit of giving. Most organizations welcome groups, but please check the specific opportunity details or notify the nonprofit coordinator so they can prepare for extra hands.

These areas—from aging and education to homelessness—reflect Bill’s personal life experiences and his beliefs. You can learn more about them here.

We love that you’re staying active in your community! While our Hub provides volunteer opportunities focused on Bill’s specific funding areas, we encourage you to report all of your hours with any organization you support to keep your personal impact record up to date. All volunteer hours and donations will count toward our measurement of the impact of Daniels Scholar and Alumni.

For Alumni, this is our primary way to track and celebrate your impact. For Scholars, please continue to report your hours here or through your End of Term Survey. We want to ensure your hard work is counted.

Of course. Our mission spans Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. If you find yourself in a neighboring state and want to help, feel free to sign up for any opportunity listed in that region.

We understand that life happens. Please contact the nonprofit’s volunteer coordinator as soon as possible via the contact information provided in your confirmation email so they can adjust their plans.

The Daniels Fund is a private foundation and does not accept outside donations. However, we highly encourage you to donate directly to the vetted nonprofits listed on this Hub or join us for our annual Pay it Forward campaign in December.

"When these kids graduate, they will go back and help their community. They will go out and mentor the next group, and it will continue on and on and on.”
