Hank Brown was appointed to serve as Daniels Fund Interim President & CEO beginning in May 2020, while the Daniels Fund Board of Directors conducts a search for its permanent leader. Hank is also a current member of the board.

Hank previously led the Daniels Fund as its President and CEO beginning July 2002, and served in that role until his appointment as President of the University of Colorado in 2005. In his first two years at the Daniels Fund, he reduced overhead by 35% and shifted $2 million annually toward increased grants and scholarship funding. Prior to Daniels Fund, Hank served as the 11th President of the University of Northern Colorado.

Before UNC, Hank served Colorado in both the U.S. Senate and five consecutive terms in the U.S. House of Representatives from Colorado's 4th Congressional District. He was elected and re-elected to the House by margins ranging from 69% to 74%. He was elected to the U.S. Senate by a 13% margin. Hank served in the Colorado State Senate from 1972 to 1976. From 1969 to 1980, he was a Vice President at Monfort of Colorado.

Hank earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Colorado in 1961, and served as CU's student body president. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1969. In 1986, while in Washington, D.C., Hank earned a master of laws degree from George Washington University. In 1988, he passed the exam to become a certified public accountant.

Hank served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966. He volunteered for duty in Vietnam, and was decorated for his combat service as a forward air controller. He is a proud Colorado native, and lives in Denver with his wife, Nan. They have three adult children, Harry, Christy, and Lori, and five grandchildren.
