Dan Helle

Dan Helle is a veteran of the private equity and financial services industries. For 30 years, Dan was with CIVC Partners, a Chicago-based middle market private equity firm. For 26 of those years, he was a Managing Partner. He shared overall strategic and operating responsibility for the firm while also leading investment teams responsible for making many portfolio company investments.

During Dan’s time at CIVC Partners, the firm transformed from a bank-owned and funded private equity firm to a partner owned firm with a diverse investor group. They formed five funds and invested over $1 billion in private equity investments, which ultimately returned over $3 billion for investors. CIVC was, and remains, a consistent top-quartile performer based on returns to investors. In addition to Dan’s management responsibilities at CIVC, he served on the board of directors of more than 20 of CIVC’s portfolio companies. CIVC executed its strategy as a controlling investor in its companies, and as a result Dan’s board duties were those of an active, controlling investor. In that role, Dan helped develop high-performing management teams and set the strategic direction of the companies.

Before joining CIVC, Mr. Helle worked at Citicorp, Continental Bank, and Northern Trust Bank.

Mr. Helle received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Western Illinois University and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois.

Dan and his wife Cynthia have happily retired and call Edwards, Colorado home.
