Brian Deevy is chairman and chief executive officer of RBC Daniels. He is responsible for strategic development of the firm’s business, which includes mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt capital formation, and financial advisory engagements.
Mr. Deevy directs the firm’s efforts for clients across several sectors of the communications industry worldwide, including cable, Satellite/DBS, programming services, wireline and wireless telecom, telecom infrastructure, Internet communications, web hosting, Internet content, radio & TV broadcasting, out-of-home advertising, publishing, software and technology. Over his tenure, he has led RBC Daniels to a performance of more than 1,700 completed transactions in these sectors valued at over $100 billion.
Mr. Deevy also has primary responsibility for RBC Daniels’ Cable Television Group. They have engineered over 1,200 cable transactions, making RBC Daniels the dominant cable financial advisor in the world, and a pioneer in the highly specialized arena of tax-free exchanges.
In addition to his financial expertise, Mr. Deevy is recognized as one of the cable industry’s most prominent leaders, and received the NCTA’s Vanguard Award for Associates in 1995.
Prior to joining Daniels in 1981, Mr. Deevy was a banking officer with Continental Bank of Chicago. He received a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth.
