Linda Childears headshot

Linda Childears
President & Chief Executive Officer

Linda Childears joined the Daniels Fund in July 2005. Bill Daniels appointed her a trustee of his estate and named her to the original Daniels Fund Board of Directors. Linda implements the Board's strategic direction and leads all programs and operations of the Daniels Fund. Her leadership reflects her strong dedication to honoring Bill Daniels' philanthropic intent. Linda met Bill Daniels when he hired her company, The Financial Consortium, to help overcome the unprecedented operational, legal, and regulatory challenges of opening Young Americans Bank, his bank for kids. By the time of the bank's grand opening in August 1987, Linda had accepted Bill's offer to become its President & CEO.

Prior to Young Americans, Linda spent several years in "adult" banking as President of Equitable Bank of Littleton and Vice President of First National Bancorporation. She served as a board member of Colorado Bankers Association, Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, and Colorado Student Loan Program, and was Chairman of the American Bankers Association Education Foundation.

Linda currently serves on the boards of Council on Foundations, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Denver Police Foundation, First National Bank of Santa Fe, and Mountain States Employers Council. She serves on Mayor Hancock's Denver Education Compact and the Public Policy Committees of Council on Foundations and Philanthropy Roundtable.

Linda is past Chairman of National Assembly, National Camp Fire, and Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Past board positions include Alliance for Choice in Education, American Red Cross—Mile High Chapter, Cherry Creek Business Improvement District, Cheyenne Capital Fund, CollegeInvest, Colorado Association of Funders, Colorado Meth Project, Daniels College of Business, Dental Lifeline Network, Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, Denver Public Schools Foundation, DU Bridge Project, Foundation for Teaching Economics, Johnson & Wales University—President's Advisory Board, Junior Achievement, Mile High United Way, OpenWorld Learning, and Young Americans Bank and Center for Financial Education.

In September 2016, Linda received the Del Hock Lifetime Achievement Award from the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. The Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce named Linda one of its 25 Most Powerful Women in 2014. She was National Philanthropy Day's Outstanding Professional in Philanthropy in 2010, and City Year Denver's 2015 Red Jacket Honoree. Other honors include Warren Village Philanthropic Leader Honoree, Colorado Bankers Association Banker of Distinction, Girl Scouts of Colorado Woman of Distinction, the Athena Award in 1998, and Honorary Lifetime Membership in Camp Fire.

Linda has received honorary doctorate degrees from Johnson & Wales University and University of Denver.

 

Jeb Dickey headshot

Jeb Dickey
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Jeb Dickey joined the Daniels Fund in April 2000. His responsibilities include oversight of finance and investment activities. He oversees all facets of investment reporting as well as financial processes and activities. Jeb's responsibilities also include oversight of the Information Technology department.

Prior to his position at the Daniels Fund, Jeb held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Wireless Broadcasting Systems of America, Inc., a privately owned multi-state wireless cable television and internet services company. He was directly responsible for obtaining the requisite financing and operations for that company during its startup and early stage development.

Jeb serves on the board of Young Americans Bank. Jeb holds a bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting from New Mexico State University.

 

David Brown headshot

David Brown
Senior Vice President, Information Technology & Business Applications

David Brown joined the Daniels Fund in December 2007. David manages information technology activities including the implementation and operation of IT systems and business application solutions. He manages the analysis and reporting of data used in business activities across all departments.

Prior to his position at the Daniels Fund, David served as Financial Analyst and Information Technology Project Manager for Land Title Guarantee Company. In this capacity, he was responsible for financial forecasting, budgeting, process innovation, and database administration.

David provides assistance to international students as a volunteer at the University of Denver, and is a past board member of DenverWorks.

David holds a bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Colorado, and a master's degree in Business Administration from Regis University.

 

Bill Fowler headshot

Bill Fowler
Senior Vice President, Scholarship Program

Bill Fowler joined the Daniels Fund in April 2012. Bill oversees all aspects of the Daniels Scholarship Program, including the community-based selection process, student support, employer and university relationships, scholar success programs, and scholar alumni relations. Bill also oversees the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship Program.

Prior to his position at the Daniels Fund, Bill served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Daniels & Associates, L.P., a privately owned media and telecommunications investment bank founded by Bill Daniels in 1958. Bill Fowler was responsible for the accounting, finance, treasury, human resources, information technology, and marketing functions of the firm.

Bill is a board member of the NASBA Center for the Public Trust. He is a current board member and past board president of the Colorado Golf Association, and past board member and treasurer of the Jeffco Schools Foundation. Bill is a certified public accountant, and holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Colorado State University.

 

Bo Peretto headshot

Bo Peretto
Senior Vice President, Communications & Operations

Bo Peretto joined the Daniels Fund in January 2006. He oversees all facets of the communications and operations functions. Communications responsibilities include oversight of media relations, brand integration, graphic standards, messaging, print materials, corporate website, and special events. Operations oversight includes building management and maintenance, security and safety, and public meeting space. Bo also manages the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative.

Prior to joining the Daniels Fund, Bo was Assistant Vice President of Administration at Young Americans Center for Financial Education. In this role, he was responsible for supervising administrative staff and overseeing a broad range of the organization's administrative functions.

Bo currently serves on the boards of Young Americans Bank and Center for Financial Education and the Rose Andom Center. He has served on the boards of the Young Philanthropists Foundation and the Colorado Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. He is a graduate of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation's Leadership Denver Class of 2009.

Bo currently attends the University of Colorado.

 

Kristin Todd headshot

Kristin Todd
Senior Vice President, Grants Program

Kristin Todd joined the Daniels Fund in May 2003. She oversees all aspects of the Daniels Fund Grants Program, including the grant application and consideration process, evaluation and reporting, and special initiatives related to achieving the goals of the grants program. Kristin maintains a high level of community engagement and maintains relationships with many nonprofit organizations.

Prior to her position at the Daniels Fund, Kristin served as Associate Vice President for Grantmaking and Communications at El Pomar Foundation, one of the largest private foundations operating in Colorado.

Kristin is a current board member of Boy Scouts of America–Denver Area Council. She is a past board member of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, the Colorado Association of Funders, and the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs. She is past board chair of Colorado Nonprofit Association, and former trustee of El Pomar Foundation. Kristin has served on several state commissions and advisory councils related to philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.

Kristin holds a master's degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from the University of Colorado.

 

Cindy Culkin headshot

Cindy Culkin
Vice President, Administration & Human Resources

Cindy Culkin joined the Daniels Fund in January 2015. She manages administrative and human resources functions, including activities related to recruitment and hiring. She works with executive management to assess the Daniels Fund's success in meeting its grant and scholarship goals, and manages the functions related to board policy and management procedure compliance. In addition, Cindy is Secretary to the Board of Directors.

Prior to her position at the Daniels Fund, Cindy was Executive Director of Financial Affairs for Shalom Cares, a nonprofit organization delivering services to seniors. Prior to that position, Cindy spent 30 years in the banking industry working extensively in commercial bank operations, policies and procedures, business line analysis, compliance, and customer relations.

Cindy is a current board member of the City of Englewood's Neighborhood Watch Program, and a former board member and treasurer for the Colorado Governor's Residence Preservation Fund.

Cindy studied International Business at Cannon's Business College in Honolulu.

 

Gretchen Lenamond headshot

Gretchen Lenamond
Vice President, Finance

Gretchen Lenamond joined the Daniels Fund in December 2000. She manages certain finance and accounting functions including financial transaction processes and accounting, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting, and financial and tax reporting. Gretchen also manages the administration of payroll and benefits.

Prior to joining the Daniels Fund, Gretchen was Vice President of the Financial Services Division for Marsh and McLennan, an insurance brokerage and consulting services firm. There she gained expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities litigation, and employment practices liability. Gretchen serves on the board and the finance committee for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. She is a former board member of Community Shares of Colorado. She is a member of Foundation Financial Officers Group (FFOG), and volunteers for Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado.

Gretchen holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire, and a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver.

 

Tracey Lovett headshot

Tracey Lovett
Vice President, Scholar Relations

Tracey Lovett joined the Daniels Fund in August 2000. She manages the scholar relations function of the Daniels Scholarship Program, which includes management of the team of Scholar Relations Officers. Tracey also manages the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship Program for nontraditional students.

Prior to joining the Daniels Fund, Tracey developed and implemented student recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies for Colorado State University. While there, she created and executed a research and leadership development program to expose high school students to CSU.

Tracey is active with Shorter Community A.M.E. Church, serving on the steward board, in the Women's Missionary Society, and as an advisor to the church's Girl Scout troop. She serves on the Metropolitan State University of Denver's President's Advisory Cabinet, the University Preparatory Elementary School board, and is a member of the National Scholarship Providers Association.

Tracey holds a bachelor's degree in Technical Journalism and a master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University.

 

Charlotte Min-Harris headshot

Charlotte Min-Harris
Vice President, Grants Operations

Charlotte Min-Harris joined the Daniels Fund in October 2016. She provides management-level oversight of various operational and administrative functions within the Daniels Fund Grants Program, including activities related to the grants management database system and the department's policies, procedures, and processes, while ensuring a strong focus on performance measures and accountability.

Charlotte has an impressive 30-year background in nonprofit and for-profit organizational operations, management, and strategic development. She spent several years as the Chief Operating Officer with the Colorado and Wyoming office of the American Red Cross, and more recently as the Director of Development at The Adoption Exchange.

Charlotte is a graduate of Legacy Denver's class of 2012, Leadership Denver's class of 2013, holds a B.A. and M.A. from Michigan State University, and a Masters of Global Studies from the University of Denver. Charlotte has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver.

 

Laura Steffen headshot

Laura Steffen
Vice President, Scholar Recruitment & Selection

Laura Steffen joined the Daniels Fund in November 2007. She manages the selection process for the Daniels Scholarship Program which includes overseeing the outreach efforts, application, interview process, and the annual Scholars Heading in the Future Together (SHIFT) Daniels Scholar orientation conference. Laura also uses her Spanish speaking abilities to support the Spanish–speaking families of our Daniels Scholars.

Prior to joining the Daniels Fund, Laura served as the Director of a Latino Initiative at Junior Achievement in Denver coordinating Latino leaders in the community as volunteers to teach Latino elementary, middle and high school students in the Denver metro area about financial literacy. She was also a high school Spanish teacher, field hockey and lacrosse coach, and student advisor for seven years. Laura currently serves on the board of the National Scholarship Providers Association.

Laura holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Oregon and a master's degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Middlebury College.

 

Bruce Wilmsen headshot

Bruce Wilmsen
Vice President, Media & Community Relations

Bruce Wilmsen joined the Daniels Fund in May 2014. He manages the Daniels Fund's media relationships, release of news, community partnerships, digital communications, and social media.

Before his position at the Daniels Fund, Bruce served as Vice President, Client & Marketing Strategy for RBC Capital Markets. In that role, he was responsible for business-to-business digital, print, collateral, and event marketing. Prior to RBC, Bruce was Marketing Manager for Daniels & Associates, L.P., a privately owned media and telecommunications investment bank founded by Bill Daniels in 1958.

Bruce holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Colorado.
